About NutriMeter X (Nx)

Early Develolpment Pics of Nx.

When testing 10 supermarkets in Ballarat in 2023 with a SCiO spectrometer to find out which had the highest quality (highest BRIX reading = most delicoous, nutritious). which had the best Value of Money, etc, many Consumers approached to ask what we were doing.

When explained (above reasons), they all wanted one, and asked "How much?". It was explained that the SCiO was too expensive (US$ 2500 at the time, now US$5000) for Consumers.

But all agreed they were prepared Au$400 for such a scanner. Thus the idea, concept of the Nx (poiur 10th evolution of the NutriMeter) .

NX measures NDI, not BRIX.

BRIX* has been internationlly accepted as the best objective measure of food quality for past 200 years.

BRIX has been accepted and used by most global Food and Health Authorities, such as our FSANZ (Food Standards ANZ) and HMRC (National Health and Medical Research Council)..

Now, measuring BRIX accurately with a scanner (spectroscopy) is a little more complex  than the 200 yr old BRIX refractomer.

In SCiO's case, the spectral profile (readings avoe 7 light waves) is sent up into the cloud, and compared against pre-calibrated profiles of that particular fruit SCiO was limted to 13 fruits, no veggies.

To avoid such complexities and cost, Nx uses algorythms to produce a NutrienT Desnity Index (NDI)  which produces the same results as BRIX in allowing Coinsumers to select which produce items are ihe most delicious, nutritious before them or as in the FindGoodFood.system.

We succeeded in doing this ion 2023, but COVID had already killed out FindGoodFood and NutriBalance projects.

Scanning a Tomato

Typically tomatoes from shops are not as tasty, delicious as when grow them yourself. We have been measuring with BRIX meters since 2010, and they have typically measured 3.5 degrees of BRIX.

But when first testing Nx in 2023, we discovered that supermarekt tomatoes were doubled, meauring between 6-8 degrees of BRIX,

Food scientists are telling us that all they (industrially farmed produce) have done is ioncrease the sugar levels by GMO.

So, in such GMO'd  tomatoes and other produce, the health risk may be elevated to include GMO dangers as well as increaxed sugar levles.

NB : the NDI of 9.6 shown here is not a measure of BRIX, so avoid such confusions, we have increased the sensitivity of the NDI reading to 3 digits - this pic will be changed shortly
